Barry O’Dwyer is the Managing Director of DUAL Underwriting Ireland DAC, having established DUAL’s Irish business in 2015. DUAL Private Client has since grown to become one of Ireland’s principal High Net Worth insurers, specialising in private homes, jewellery, fine art, as well as luxury and high performance cars, private fleets and classic car collections. Barry has over 25 years’ experience in the industry, with 10 years in Aviva in a variety of management roles and a further 10 with Chubb, where he ran their HNW division. Outside of work, Barry likes to play golf (badly) and keep fit by running the (very) odd marathon.

Kate O’Connor is the Head of Business Development for DUAL Underwriting Ireland DAC. Kate joined DUAL in 2015 as a Senior Underwriter and has played an intricate role in growing the business over the years. Previously in AIG, Kate has 10 years’ experience in the insurance industry with a strong focus on underwriting and business development. Outside of work, Kate enjoys playing rounders and lifting weights in the gym.

Siobhan Mannion is a Senior High-Net-Worth Underwriter for DUAL Underwriting Ireland DAC having joined in 2019. Siobhan has over 8 years’ experience in the insurance industry, spread across both Zurich and Patrona Underwriting Ltd, where she excelled in various underwriting and audit roles. Prior to that she spent 8 years working in the investment fund industry. In her spare time Siobhan loves going to the gym, cycling and most importantly eating out.

Rachel has over 11 years’ experience in the insurance industry, having worked in 123.ie for more than 6 years, starting out as an agent and progressing to a supervisor looking after a team of 9 customer care agents. Since then Rachel has worked as a quality assurance analyst and training lead for GloHealth part of Irish life and Chubb travel insurance in OSG Vericlaim and has some experience in insurance broking also. In her spare time Rachel loves to keep fit, read and listen to music.

Shauna Fogarty is a High Net Worth Underwriter for DUAL Underwriting Ireland DAC, having joined the team in 2020. Shauna has over 9 years’ experience in the insurance industry. Prior to joining DUAL, Shauna was the Personal Lines Manager for Insuremyvan.ie, CFM Group’s largest brand. Having started her career as a customer service agent, she quickly worked her way up the ladder into a managerial position with over 40 agents reporting directly to her. In her spare time, Shauna loves travelling, cooking and going out for food.

Helen Furlong is one of the newest members of the Dual Underwriting Ireland DAC team. She joined the team as a Business Development Executive in 2020. Helen has a cumulative proven track record of over 12 years within Patrona Underwriting Ltd., Wexford Insurance Brokers and Quinn Direct Insurance. The positions she has grown in during her career are Regional Claims Manager, Personal Lines Manager, Team Leader and Private Product lead with a focus in Training and Business Development. In her down time, Helen loves to spend time gardening which is a passion of hers and also loves to include her garden when socialising with friends and family. She enjoys going for a stroll, seeing a good film at the cinema, or having a nice glass of vino with a tasty meal.

Stephen originally began his career working within accounts, finance and credit control for over 10 years. In January 2012, he joined 123.ie working within their accounts department as a credit control administrator and finance assistant. He soon moved to a customer care role looking after client’s home and motor insurance within 123.ie, becoming much more involved within the insurance side of the business. Stephen sat his insurance exams whilst in 123.ie and is proud to be APA certified. Stephen joined Ben Mc Ardle Ltd Insurance brokers in January 2015 as a Personal Lines Executive, quickly moving up the ranks to Personal lines Manager in January 2016. In this role, Stephen managed the Personal Lines department, specialising in both standard and high net worth home and motor insurance, whilst also looking after advertising and business development. Stephen is delighted to have joined the Dual team this summer and is thoroughly enjoying the new role and journey in becoming an experienced underwriter within DUAL. Outside of work he is a big fan of boxing, music, reading and keeping fit.

James Cullen is a High-Net-Worth underwriter for DUAL Underwriting Ireland DAC, who joined the company in July 2022 and is the newest member of the team. James has over 6 years’ experience in the industry. Having started his career as an insurance administrator, he progressed by running various personal lines teams and he lead the introduction of numerous insurance products to the market. James has also expanded his experience outside of Insurance, gaining communications and marketing experience in one of Ireland’s top universities.
In his spare time, James is an avid runner. He enjoys the arts and culture of Dublin, with an appreciation of live music.
